Properties and low lying areas in Yeoford, Neopardy, Gunstone, Salmonchurch and Downes Mill will start to flood first. Flood waters may be deep and fast flowing in these areas. Residents are strongly urged to take action now. Remain safe and be aware of your local surroundings. River levels are rising at the Llanymynech river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible today, 14/06/25. Flooding may affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from the Welsh border at Llawnt to Shrawardine near Shrewsbury. Other locations that may be affected include Llanymynech, Maesbrook and Melverley.
Predicted peaks:- Llanymynech 3.0m to 3.5m on Saturday morning, 14/06/25.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 48 hours. We expect river levels to remain high until Saturday afternoon, 14/06/25.
We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences.

Up to 70mm of rain is forecast Friday evening. Models suggest this rain could occur over Polegate, but there is low confidence in locations and amounts. If as much rain falls as predicted, flooding could be possible. From 22:00 13/06/2025 flooding could possibly affect gardens of Brook Street and Gosford Way and the Gosford Way Allotments. Riverside properties at Millstream Gardens, The Millrace, Clement Lane, Brightling Road and Manor Way could also be affected by flooding. Only a small amount of rain is forecast Saturday. The river should begin to fall by 04:00 14/06/2025, and should return to normal from 06:00 14/06/2025. We will consider issuing a flood warning for onset of property flooding when confidence in the forecast increases. If you see a blockage affecting the flow in the river, please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60. We are clearing debris from our grilles on Gosford Way, to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We will update this message by 11:00 14/06/2025.

If as much rain falls as predicted, flooding could be possible. From 23:00 13/06/2025 flooding could possibly affect roads, and approach a small number of properties on Stonehouse Drive, Hollington Old Lane, Blackman Avenue and Coventry Road. Flood protection products are recommended to be installed on Stonehouse Drive, if you have them. Only a small amount of rain is forecast Saturday. The river should begin to fall by 02:00 14/06/2025, and should return to normal from 03:00 14/06/2025. We will consider issuing a flood warning for onset of property flooding when confidence in the forecast increases. We have issued a Flood Alert. Rain is forecast to affect London on Friday 13th June, overnight into Saturday morning. It is currently unclear which areas will experience the heaviest rain.
If the heaviest rain affects the Hendon, Wembley, Harrow, Wealdstone, Edgware or Stanmore areas there is the possibility that rivers could overtop their banks. Flooding to low lying land, roads and riverside gardens is possible tonight. Flooding from surface water, where water gathers and flows off road surfaces, could also occur.
We expect river levels in areas that receive the heaviest rain to respond by rising quickly. We recommend you stay aware of local weather conditions and water levels. Consider putting your flood plan into action. You should avoid walking, cycling or driving through flood water.
