Paul defeats Tyson on points
Kal Sajad has the report from ringside in Texas. It is a very good read. A strange night.

Thank you for sticking with us through what has been a mixed night of boxing.
From the sublime undisputed light-welterweight contest between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano to the surreal vision of Jake Paul and Mike Tyson stumbling through 16 minutes.
I don't think that last fight did much for the reputation of boxing but who really expected it to?
As mentioned, we have another live text tonight when England's Chris Billam-Smith looks to unify in the cruiserweight division, so do come back for that.
Now, go and get some sleep!

Understandably, a lot of you feel that bout between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson was a let down and a waste of time.
For those of you who do like a good, even fight, we have live text coverage of Chris Billam-Smith's cruiserweight unification contest against Gilberto Ramirez tonight.
Bournemouth's Billam-Smith and Mexico's Ramirez meet in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Paul defeats Tyson on points
If your eyes haven't gone square at this time of the morning then I'll throw a couple of punch stats your way.
Mike Tyson landed just 18 punches across that 16 minute contest, compared to 78 punches from Jake Paul.
Paul was most active in round three, throwing 44 punches, although only 16 landed.
Taylor beats Serrano by unanimous decision
And let's not forget that tonight's card wasn't a completed damp squib.
Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, who really should have been given top billing, put on another classic encounter in their rematch.
Taylor retained her undisputed light-welterweight title via unanimous decision, although she was booed by fans at AT&T Stadium, who felt she fought dirty.
Ireland's Taylor, who also won the first meeting in 2022, was deducted a point in the eighth round for continuous use of the head, something which led to a cut opening up above Serrano's eye earlier in the fight.

Serrano is the definition of quantity over quality. Unbelievable warrior and puncher but not a great boxer. No head movement and just swinging from start to finish, that's what cost her.
Graeme, London
Taylor clear winner. Slow start, but grew into the fight incredibly and comfortably won the last 5 rounds. Serrano was just as bad with the headbutts.

Forget the main event, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano put on another classic.
That was boxing.

Very much like that well known BBC quiz show... Pointless.

Mike Tyson, speaking on Netflix: "I am happy.
"I knew he was a good fighter. I knew he was prepared.
"I didn't prove nothing to anybody, only to myself. I am just happy with what I can do."
On Jake Paul: "Very good fighter. Absolutely [deserves respect].
On whether he will fight again: "I don't know, it depends on the situation. I don't think so, maybe his brother [Logan]."
On wearing a knee brace: "Yeah [I had a knee injury], but I can't use that for an excuse."
On biting his glove throughout the fight: "That was a habit of mine, biting my glove when I fight. I have a biting fixation."

Well that was a big bag of hot air. Glasses raised to Taylor vs Serrano for a fight worth staying up to watch.

What an anti climax after Taylor Serrano. A tame sparring session but everyone buys into the hype every time…

Jake Paul, speaking on Netflix: "Mike Tyson, it's such an honour. Let's give it up for Mike, the greatest to ever do it. We wouldn't be here without him today with him, this man is an icon. It's just an honour to be able to fight him. It was really tough fight. I expected it to be."
"He was exactly what I thought. One of the greatest to ever do it. An icon.
"I was trying to hurt him a little bit. I was scared he was going to hurt me. I did my best."
Paul wins by unanimous decision

Hopefully people aren't too disappointed but he's 58 years old, what did you expect?
Paul defeats Tyson on points
Mike Tyson now has seven defeats on his professional record.
The 58-year-old, competing for the 59th time, has lost his last three fights, albeit his most recent trip to the ring in a professional capacity prior to tonight was back in 2005.

Sad day for boxing watching this. When did it become such a circus.
